GPW does not disclose, give, sell or transfer any personal information about GP Atlas website visitors unless required by law.
User information collected
Visitors to the GP Atlas website are not required to provide personal information to use the information resources listed on the site. However, the following types of click stream data are recorded so as to ensure that the GP Atlas can be configured to best meet the needs of users.
- Your server address
- The name of the top level domain name from which you access the Internet (e.g. .gov, .com, .edu, .au, .uk, etc.)
- The type of browser you use
- The date and time you accessed the site
- The pages you accessed and the documents downloaded
These constitute web site statistics to allow us to assess the number of visitors to the site, identify those sections that are most used and least used, optimise design specifications to enhance accessibility, and help make the site more useful to visitors. No attempt will be made to identify individual users from their browsing activities unless required to do so by law.
Personal information collected
Users wishing to register as My Atlas subscribers will be requested to provide the following information.
- Your title (i.e Dr. Mr. Ms. etc)
- Your name
- Your e-mail address
- User type (e.g. GP, Student, GP Registrar, etc)
This information is collected to allow effective communication with registered subscribers and will not be disclosed to other parties or used for any other purpose without your consent unless required to do so by law.
Where users have supplied personal information during the provision of feedback this information will only be used for the purpose for which it was provided, and it will not be disclosed to other parties. E-mail addresses supplied on feedback forms will not be added to mailing lists.

Security
GPW endeavours to keep the site secure but users are reminded that the Internet is an insecure public network and as such transmissions can be viewed, intercepted or modified by third parties. GPW accepts no responsibility or liability in the event that transmissions are viewed, intercepted or modified.
For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, we employ software programs to monitor traffic to identify unauthorised attempts to upload or change information, or other otherwise cause damage.
